Cutchins Program – School

The UAW staff at the New Directions School consist of Teachers, Specialists, Instructors and Assistant Teachers. The School is open year-round and provides an educational environment for thirty emotionally challenged children.  The school is an alternative school that fully embraces a wide range of activities including traditional subjects and it is grounded in therapeutic models similar to the Residential programs.  The union employees take their responsibility of providing excellent care and a quality education seriously.  The group is dedicated to improving their own working conditions that are fair and reasonable within the constraints of a tight budget, as well as fighting to maintain a high level of care and learning for the children that they teach.
