Cutchins Program – School

The UAW staff at the New Directions School consist of Teachers, Specialists, Instructors and Assistant Teachers. The School is open year round and provides an educational environment for thirty emotionally challenged children.

The school is an alternative school that fully embraces a wide range of activities including traditional subjects.

The bargaining unit has a low turnover rate. The union employees take their responsibility of providing excellent care and service seriously. The group is dedicated to improving their own working conditions that are fair and reasonable within the constraints of a tight budget, as well as fighting to maintain a high level of care and learning for the children that they teach.
