The Cutchins Residential unit has two separate trauma-informed care programs in Western Ma. The UAW bargaining unit Family Support Counselors work in 24 hour Residential programs in either Springfield or Northampton MA. The quality of care provided by the union staff is exceptional and often very demanding. The UAW team of workers not only fight for a fair contract and improved working conditions for themselves, but they are also strong advocates for the children in their care.
One program is a cluster of three residential treatment houses, with 12 DMH referrals and a 6 respite beds for the Western MA area. The other program serves twelve children with severe emotional difficulties. The children are between the ages of 5-12 years old in a highly structured residential program in Springfield. The facility includes the residence, school, clinic and a gym.
