Due to technical difficulties, the date of the election and the nomination period have been extended. The new nomination acceptance deadline is August 7th, 2021 at 5pm.
The vacancy election of Local 2322 Executive Officers will take place on September 23rd, in accordance with the Constitution and Local bylaws. If needed, run-off elections will be held on October 9th, 2021.
TERM OF OFFICE
Executive Officers and Stewards will serve out the remainder of the current Officer’s term which will end upon installation of new officers in 2022 following the Triennial Election. Installation of officers will occur at the next meeting of the 2322 Local.
ELIGIBILITY TO HOLD OFFICE
No member shall be eligible for election to any office unless they have been a member in continuous good standing in the local union since July 7th, 2021. A member may not run for or hold more than one Executive Office but may simultaneously run for and hold the office of Steward and/or Executive Office. If any member accepts nomination for more than one Executive Office, the Election Committee shall deem that the member has accepted only the last nomination accepted by them.
OFFICES
| President | The President is the chief officer of the Local and is employed full-time by the Local. They presides over all Local meetings, appoints committee members not otherwise elected, serves ex officio on all committees, countersigns all checks issued from the Local treasury, and delegates duties to other officers to advance the interests of the membership. |
| Vice President | Assists the President in all duties. Performs the duties of the President in their absence. |
| Financial Secretary-Treasurer | Maintains all Local accounts; handles all dues and income of the Local; maintains membership list; pays Local bills; is responsible for all Local property. |
| Recording Secretary | Maintains all records of the Local. Takes meeting minutes. Handles Local correspondence. |
| Trustees (3) | Conduct semi-annual audits of the Local’s funds and property. |

NOMINATIONS
All members in good standing of UAW Local 2322 are automatically nominated for all offices. To run, you must accept nomination in writing, delivered either by hand, fax or email to the Local Union office NO later than August 7th at 5pm.

Following the close of nominations, on Tuesday August 10th at 5:30 PM, the Election Committee will be holding a virtual meeting for all candidates to explain campaign rules and determine the order of names on the ballot according to random drawing. Attendance is not required. Candidates may, if they wish, send a designated observer.
