Nominations for the election of Local 2322 Executive Officers will open on March 1, 2016 and close on March 17, 2016. Voting ballots will be mailed on April 18, 2016 and count of ballots will occur on May 10, 2016.If needed, run-off elections will be held from May 12, 2016 to May 30, 2016, and will be done by mail-in ballot.
TERM OF OFFICE
Executive Officers will serve a three-year term which will end upon installation of new officers in 2019. Installation of officers will occur on June 1, 2016.
ELIGIBILITY TO HOLD OFFICE
No member shall be eligible for election to any office unless s/he has been a member in
continuous good standing in the local union for one year prior to nomination. A member may not run for or hold more than one Executive Office, but may simultaneously run for and hold the office of Steward and an Executive Office. If any member accepts nomination for more than one Executive Office, the Election Committee shall deem that the member has accepted only the last nomination accepted.
OFFICES
President
The President is the chief officer of the Local and is employed full-time by the Local. S/he presides over all Local meetings, appoints committee members not otherwise elected, serves ex officio on all committees, countersigns all checks issued from the Local treasury, and delegates duties to other officers to advance the interests of the membership.
Vice President
Assists the President in all duties. Performs the duties of the President in his/her absence.
Financial Secretary-Treasurer
Maintains all Local accounts; handles all dues and income of the Local; maintains membership list; pays Local bills; is responsible for all Local property.
Recording Secretary
Maintains all records of the Local. Takes meeting minutes. Handles Local correspondence.
Trustees (3)
Conduct semi-annual audits of the Local’s funds and property.
Sergeant-at-Arms
Maintains order at membership meetings, introduces new members and visitors and other duties as assigned.
Guide
Helps preserve order at meetings and ensures all present are members in good standing. Performs other duties as assigned.
NOMINATIONS
All members in good standing of UAW Local 2322 are automatically nominated for all offices, and must simply accept nomination. To run, you must accept nomination in writing, delivered by email to the Election Committee NO later than March 17, 2016 at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time, or delivered in person or via fax to the Local union office NO later than March 17, 2016 at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
