On October 16, the newly reconstituted Goddard Staff bargaining committee met with management in the Oak Room to restart the bargaining process. We were pleased at the change in tone from previous negotiations, but there is still much work to be done before we have a first contract.
Management gave an updated offer where they showed some movement on several outstanding issues. It is clear that the new management team is interested in resolving our differences on outstanding proposals, which is a helpful change from past management bargaining teams. We expect to have a response to management’s proposal in two weeks on October 30, when we are tentatively scheduled to meet next.
We hope to be able to offer a more substantial bargaining update following our session in two weeks. In the meantime, please continue to let us know about your priorities and concerns for our first contract.
In solidarity,
The Goddard College Staff Union Bargaining Committee
