Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is with mixed emotion that I offer my resignation as President of GEO. I have accepted a position with the United Electrical Workers, a great radical and democratic union, and must relocate to Chicago. I have full confidence in the ability of our staff and steering to continue to push forward and improve our condition as graduate employees. I hope that for some you, the time we have worked together has served to deepen your belief in the power of collective action. I have greatly enjoyed working with you to advance our shared goals, and I look forward to seeing many of you in some way or another in the movement. As always, in the event that the University fails to make good on their promises, give ’em hell for me.
In solidarity,
Elvis Méndez
