3/29/2016 Providence Hospital Bargaining Update

The union bargaining committee met with management for a second bargaining session on March 29, 2016. The union team – John McGrath (Detox), Traci Ellithorpe (Older Adult), Michelle Rubeck (CHAD), Miriam Lexie (MMTP), Olga Mercado (Detox), Elizabeth Audet (Adult Psych) and Ryan Quinn (UAW 2322 Rep.) – came in with three proposals.

Two proposals addressed productivity and workload in the Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program by lowering the cap on caseloads and by amending the productivity accrued in group sessions. Management had questions about these proposals but has not yet responded to them formally. The third proposal was intended to address recent unilateral changes by management to change pay dates from Thursday to Friday. The proposal on payroll periods would create weekly rather than biweekly pay dates, and set Thursday rather than Friday as the pay date. Management replied that payroll periods are consistent system wide, and that they did not anticipate being able to change the payroll period for one bargaining unit. We will continue to talk about the payroll period proposal with all other issues.

Management had no proposals at this bargaining session.

Our next bargaining dates are Wednesday, April 6, Tuesday, April 12, and Wednesday, April 27. We will attempt to keep all UAW members updated throughout negotiations. Please check the Providence Hospital page of the UAW Local 2322 website for updates.
